{THE NOAH CLAN}

OVERVIEW

The opposing side in this war, the Noah Clan mostly revolves around the fourteen disciples of Noah and their monstrous creations, Akuma. This group works towards the common goal of wiping out the second generation of humanity and replacing it with the third generation, consisting entirely of awakened Noah disciples and their own human creations -- the final stage of an Akuma, which has yet to be created.

NOAH

The Noah Family consists of fourteen human descendants of Noah who have inherited his genes. It was originally believed that they were the descendants of a single individual known as "Noah", but it is later revealed that there was originally a clan of 12 members. The Noah clan claim to be the original ancestors of all humans after the Great Flood, and that all humans possess "Noah genes." Every era, the Noah are resurrected through reincarnation to assist the Earl.

A Noah can be identified by a gray skin tone, gold eyes, and a horizontal line of seven cross-shaped stigmata referred to as holy marks. Like Akuma creatures, they base their powers off Dark Matter, the opposite of Innocence, and as such are vulnerable to Innocence. However, since Innocence and Dark Matter are weak against each other, the Noah can also destroy Innocence by merely touching it. Unlike normal humans, they are immune to the blood virus of the Akuma blood oil.

The Noah share an inborn drive to kill Exorcists, but otherwise possess unique will and mindsets. "Carved" on their genes is a memory of one of the original Noah and a "true name" different from any member in their generation and possess a supernatural ability. They claim to be immortal, but it is an exaggeration and "the Noah just haven't met anyone strong enough to kill them". However, it is only the Noah's human body that dies after suffering enough physical trauma and that the Noah will reincarnate into another body.

AKUMA

Akuma take up the majority of the Earl's army and serve as the "foot soldiers". They are demon-like machines created using the soul of a recently deceased human in order to function. The soul is trapped inside a weapon meant to kill their own kind and is under complete control of the Noah clan.

The soul inside each Akuma is placed there by a loved one and their grief. The Millennium Earl targets humans grieving a recently deceased friend/relative/lover and tricks them into calling the soul back from the Underworld. Once called back, the soul will be placed into a metallic skeletal looking machine and come to life. The Earl then has complete power over the soul and orders for it to kill the one who had called it back. Once dead, the human's skin will be worn by the newly created Akuma so it can effectively hide in society until it is ordered to kill.

Akuma have poisonous blood that can be hardened into bullets and shot out of the many cannons sprouting out of their balloon-like bodies. This is their only attack, but given the amount of cannons they have and the speed at which they can be shot, these creatures are extremely dangerous to humans and Exorcists. Akuma blood contains a deadly virus that rapidly spreads throughout the body, turning skin black as it spreads until the body shatters and turns to dust. While Parasite type Innocence is able to counter the virus, thus saving Parasitic Exorcists and animals, other Exorcists will die just like everyone else.

BROKERS

Brokers are humans who have made deals with the Millennium Earl and sold out their fellow man to provide the Earl with grief stricken victims to build his Akuma army. Brokers are the only non-Noah human followers of the Earl, and as such, lack any real supernatural powers. They make up for this with cunning and deceit.

Most brokers are in a seat of power or a position where they can influence and gain the trust of others (such as a doctor or a member of the church itself) and manipulate that. Brokers usually offer the promise of returning a recently deceased loved one to life and then when their victim accepts, they contact the Earl.

The Earl owns millions of phones which connect him to his Brokers all over the world and comments when one is destroyed that he "has plenty more where that came from". The Akuma, on the other hand, have no loyalty to these people, and are willing to kill them simply out of their blood-lust.

SKULLS

Skulls are the guardians and caretakers of the Earl's Akuma-producing plant. Skulls are humanoids who wear large black robes and have skull-like heads, as their names imply. Skulls are neither Akuma, nor completely human, and are created by transforming a human with a 'suitable' mind using a special form of magic. A Skull places their fingers against the forehead of a victim and chant an incantation. The human is then surrounded by arcs of energy and then shrouded in a cocoon made of a black thread-like substance, finally emerging a few moments later as a Skull.

Skulls are very resistant, capable of taking a bullet to the head without any lasting damage. The newborns are quite slow, but the older ones function at a more grown human rate. They have an average lifespan of 200 years. Their duties include cleaning the Noah's Ark, creating Akuma, guarding the egg, and other odd jobs.
